Archetypes

Archetypes describe how you naturally prefer to learn. They’re based on patterns from the AI Skills Quiz and reflect your instinctive approach to picking up new skills — not what you’re good at, but how you like to start.

Knowing your archetype helps you get into exercises faster and make the most of your learning time.

ArchetypeHow You LearnCommunity %
The TinkererHands-on experimentation, trial and error42%
The PlannerStructured approach, plan before action25%
The StrategistBig-picture thinking, understand the “why” first23%
The Social LearnerConversation and collaboration6%

Every exercise in the playbook offers multiple entry points — one for each learning style:

  • Jump in — For Tinkerers. Start doing, then understand why.
  • Plan first — For Planners. Read the overview, then execute.
  • Why this matters — For Strategists. Understand the value, then start.
  • Discuss — For Social Learners. Use reflection prompts with others.

You don’t have to stick rigidly to your archetype. Many people use different approaches depending on the exercise. But knowing your default style helps you get started when you’re unsure.

The AI Skills Quiz identifies your archetype based on your responses. You can also read through the descriptions above and see which one resonates — most people recognize themselves quickly.

  1. Read your archetype page to understand your strengths and growth areas
  2. Check the Pathways for a guided learning route
  3. Pick any exercise and start with your preferred entry point
